Pathways to Promotion
Pathways to Promotion (P2P): A Second Chance for Success
Richland Two is committed to supporting students in staying on track for academic success, even when facing disciplinary challenges. Pathway to Promotion (P2P) offers eligible students an alternative to expulsion, allowing them to continue earning high school credits while receiving structured support to develop positive life skills.
Program Overview
P2P is available to students who have committed serious disciplinary offenses classified under Category II or III of the Richland Two Code of Conduct (with the exception of firearm possession, which mandates expulsion for up to one year). Students admitted into P2P must receive approval from the Superintendent and agree to fully participate in the program. Enrollment in P2P is optional, and students who decline the opportunity will have their expulsion upheld.
Through P2P, students complete coursework online with teacher and counselor support while engaging in structured group programming focused on:
-
Career and life planning
-
Anger management
-
Drug and alcohol resistance
The ultimate goal of the program is to help students return to their home school with a renewed focus on their education, personal growth, and future goals—while avoiding behaviors that led to their expulsion.
Our Mission
The Pathway to Promotion Program provides a caring and structured educational environment where expelled students can:
✔ Earn high school credits
✔ Identify career goals
✔ Develop essential life skills
✔ Prepare to return to their home school with a positive mindset and academic readiness
By fostering accountability and personal development, P2P helps students reclaim their educational journey and build a foundation for future success.
