Kim Hutcherson, Director of Student Services and former principal of the Center for Achievement, is the 2025 AVID Global Achievement Awards Elementary Principal of the Year. She received the award at a ceremony in San Diego, California last night. AVID Global Achievement Awards recognize exceptional leaders and teams who embody the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) mission of advancing college and career readiness for all students through high expectations, rigorous instruction, and unwavering support. Richland Two offers AVID in elementary through high school grades. Its purpose is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.
