Westwood High's Trent Robinson Named 2025–2026 SCACA Boys Basketball Coach of the Year

Westwood High School’s boys basketball coach, Trent Robinson, has been named the 2025–2026 Boys Basketball Coach of the Year by the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association (SCACA). This prestigious honor recognizes Robinson’s exceptional leadership, coaching skill, and enduring commitment to his players and program. He will be celebrated during the SCACA Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet on July 25, 2026, at the Greenville Convention Center.

In addition to leading the Redhawks on the court, Robinson also serves as Assistant Athletic Director at Westwood. Now in his third season as head coach and sixth year overall at the school, he began his coaching career at Westwood as Head B-Team Coach, later advancing to Head JV Coach before taking over the varsity program.

Robinson is a proud product of Ridge View High School, where he played basketball for four seasons under Coach Combs who is now the Athletic Director at Spring Valley High. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Communication while competing on the men’s basketball team at the collegiate level. Robinson and his fiancée, Asia Haskins, are the proud parents of their daughter, Taidyn.

Robinson joins a strong legacy of Richland Two coaches honored by the SCACA for their excellence. In 2020, Yerrick Stoneman of Ridge View High was named Boys Basketball Coach of the Year, and in 2018, Warren Eure, also of Ridge View, earned the title of Girls Track and Field Coach of the Year.
