Richland Two Students Show Gains in Reading, Science, Middle School Math, and U.S. History

The South Carolina State Department of Education released results from the 2025–26 SC READY assessment, End of Course Examination Program (EOCEP), and the state’s career readiness assessment on Monday, August 10, 2026. 

Richland Two is excited to announce its results and we want to recognize our teachers. All gains made in 2025-26 were the result of the hard working teachers and school leaders who transformed school and district priorities and support into success for their students.

Richland Two Spring 2026 state summative assessment results show significant improvement over 2025 results in the following areas: 

• SC READY Reading Grades 3-8, 
• SC READY Science in Grades 4 and 6, 
• SC READY Math in Grades 7 and 8, and 
• End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) results in U.S. History.  

Student performance held steady at over 80% passing in EOCEP English 2. The district is monitoring a modest multi-year downward trend in English 2 (-4.8 points over five years) and will continue to invest in rigorous secondary support to reverse this drift.  

EOCEP Biology 1 district pass rates declined 3.8 points to 52.2%, continuing a gradual downward trend over five years (-1.7 points). The district recognizes Biology 1 achievement requires focused attention. 

Data indicate a significant decline in EOCEP Algebra 1, which reflects the structural change in the student population taking the test due to changes in state courses or order, not a decline in teaching quality or student learning.

Richland Two saw a slight decrease of the percent of students earning a credential on the state career readiness assessment. While Richland Two’s credential attainment rate on this assessment declined slightly in Spring 2026, this measure represents only one component of the state’s overall accountability framework and does not, by itself, determine a school or district’s College and Career Readiness rating.

We will carry that same determination into every area where our students need us most and we will use every tool available to us, including strong partnerships, appropriate educational technology, and innovative solutions dreamed up in and outside our district. Richland Two is purpose-driven so our students are future-ready, and we are leading the future of education,” said Dr. Kim Moore, Superintendent of Richland School District Two.
