Polo Road Elementary Gains Recognition for Developing Future Leaders
Polo Road Elementary School continues to make high marks in developing future leaders. For the third year in a row, the school has earned National Beta School of Merit status. The school earned this recognition by offering National Beta to all eligible grades on their campus. All fourth and fifth grade students at Polo Road were given an opportunity to participate in National Beta to get involved in leadership development and service involvement.
The National Beta School of Merit award is given to honor a club’s dedication and commitment to academic excellence. This year, 49 percent of Beta Clubs across the country received this award. In a congratulatory letter to Polo Road, Bobby Hart, CEO said “Thank you for your continued support of National Beta and commitment to developing future leaders!”
School Counselor Felicia Brown says Polo Road is committed to developing student leaders by providing meaningful opportunities to give back through community service and engagement.
“The Jr. Beta Club plays a critical role in student development by promoting academic excellence, fostering leadership, and providing a platform for community service. The PRE Jr. Beta Club engages in meaningful community and school-based projects that promote strong character, and cultivate a spirit of service, which are essential for their personal and academic growth,” said Brown.
Since the 2021-2022 school year, Polo Road Elementary has inducted 87 students into National Beta. These students were selected based upon their cumulative GPAs and their outstanding reputations of character, leadership, achievement, and service.
