Music Teacher Inducted Into the Hall of Fame
Pontiac Elementary music teacher Lisa Rayner is a 2024 SC Music Educators Hall of Fame honoree.

Ridge View High School and Spring Valley High School were selected as Top Magnet Schools of Excellence. Sandlapper Elementary School was selected as a Magnet School of Distinction.

Award-winning teacher named Teacher Fellow
Valente' Gibson, third-grade teacher at Jackson Creek Elementary School, has been named a 2023-2024 Teacher Fellow by Scholastic. Gibson is also named to the 2023 Top 30 Educators Under the Age of 30 by the International Literacy Association and was the 2021-2022 Richland Two Teacher of the Year.

Blythewood Middle School's Karis Mazyck was named the 2024 South Carolina Middle-Level Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA)
Elmentary Principal of the year of the Year
Jackson Creek Elementary School's Dr. Sabina Mosso Taylor was named the 2024 South Carolina Elementary Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA)
Conservation Teacher of the Year
Next Energy Engineering Instructor Kirstin Bullington has been named SC’s 2023 Conservation Teacher of the Year.

Catawba Trail Elementary's Tia Jones was named the 2022 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA)

Magnet Schools of America named Dent Middle School principal Tamala Ashford Region 4 2022 Principal of the Year and Muller Road Middle teacher Emily Eberlin Region 4 2022 Teacher of the Year. Region 4 includes seven southern states.

STUDENTS EARN A PATENT
In July 2023, an R2i2 Student Innovation Center was issued a patent for its creation, "Modular Power Supply Apparatuses and Methods for Using Same." It is the first patent for the R2i2 Student Innovation Center.
