Testing Tips & Reminders:
-
All public school students in grades three through eight must be tested with the SC READY. There are no opt-out options. Every effort will be made to test all students in grades 3-8 when they are in attendance within the testing window.
-
Doctors’ appointments and other out-of-school functions should not be scheduled during testing hours. If you have any conflicts with this schedule, please reach out to Mrs. Henderson as soon as possible.
-
Please, ensure your child has had a good night's sleep, a great breakfast, and/or has arrived at school on time to eat school breakfast. The tardy bell rings at 7:40 a.m. Testing will begin promptly at approximately 8:15 a.m. and can last from 3-4 hours.
-
Any student who arrives at school after testing has started will not be permitted to go to class. There will be an alternate location for them to go and they will be scheduled for a make-up session.
-
During testing, students may not be in possession of any electronic device(s) (i.e. cell phones, smart watches, Bluetooth headphones, etc.). All devices will be collected by the teacher and returned after each test session is completed.
Resources regarding testing such as brochures, sample items, etc. will be sent home soon with your child. Translations and alternate formats for these resources are available on the SCDE Website: https://ed.sc.gov/tests/assessment-information/student-and-parent-resources/ .
Parents with disabilities and parents who may not speak or read English may request alternate formats of these documents or other accommodations by completing a Student and Parent Resources Alternate Request Form by contacting ResourceRequests@ed.sc.gov or calling (803) 734-8289.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding SC Ready testing, please contact Ms. Henderson at 803-736-3183 EXT. 80020 or you can respond to the ParentSquare posts that were sent.
We appreciate your continued support in helping our teachers and students do their personal best each and every day, especially on these very important test days.
