Tuesday, October 18 - Basketball Tryout Information

There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, Oct. 20th in the gym from 2:35 to 3:20. The meeting will discuss tryout times and required paperwork for 7th and 8th Grade students interested in trying out for this year's basketball teams.

7th and 8th Grade students wishing to tryout must meet academic eligibility requirements as determined by the South Carolina High School League and Richland Two. Students must also have on file a current tryout packet including a physical completed on the SCHSL form dated after 4/1/2016 as well as parent permission and concussion acknowledgement form. Any paperwork that is incomplete will prevent a student from trying out.

Girl's Tryouts: Nov. 1st and 2nd 2:45-4:30

Boy's Tryouts: 2:45 to 5:00 pm

Nov. 3rd: 7th Grade Only 

Nov. 4th: 8th Grade Only 

Nov. 7th and 9th: Both Grades

Tuesday, October 18 - Madrigal Tickets on Sale

Tickets for our fifth annual Renaissance Madrigal Dinner are officially on sale!!!!

What is a Madrigal Feast you ask?! Well, a Madrigal dinner is a Renaissance themed dinner theater of sorts, much like Medieval Times, but with less jousting and more music. Our Madrigal Dinner is a collaborative work between the Richland Northeast HS and E. L. Wright MS fine arts departments. The event is full catered by Little Pigs and searved by the RNE cullinary department! During dinner guests get to enjoy medieval themed music, multilingual stories, courtly dances, and even a sword fight and a joust or two all while surrounded by student artwork!   • The 2016 Madrigal Dinner is ThursdayNovember 17, 2016 at 6:30pm
  • Tickets are on sale now through November 11th.  Every person must have a ticket to attend, tickets are U sold at the door! Tickets are limited for this one night event so get yours early!
  • Ticket Pricing: 
    • THIS IS YOU>>>Teacher/Student  Tickets are $10
    • Regular  Tickets are $15
    • Regular  Tickets with the option of reserving your  seat in the cafateria are $20 (Make reservations with Mrs. Gibbs)
    • "Lap" Children 3 years and under are free
  • Purchasing a ticket: 
    • Tickets can be purchased from me (Gibbs 703) or Mrs. Lola in the bookeeping office. 
    • NEW THIS YEAR: When you purchase madrigal tickets, you must fill out an order form. There are order forms available from Mrs. Gibbs or Mrs. Rabon.
    • Tickets must be paid in full at time of purchase; we do NOT reserve tickets

Friday, October 14 - Make-up Volleyball and Football Games

E. L. Wright will play on the following dates to make-up previously cancelled or suspended football games:

E. L. Wright will travel to Longleaf Middle School on Oct. 26th to play Longleaf in Volleyball and Football at 3 pm


E. L. Wright wil host Kelly Mill Middle School on Oct. 31st at 3:15 to resume the suspended game. This game will be free admission.



Thursday, October 13 - JV Wrestling Tryouts

​Students that are interested in trying out for JV Wrestling please check the high schools websites for information pertaining to winter sport tryouts.

Wednesday, October 12 - Career Fair

E.L. Wright Middle School's Annual Career Fair 2016
You are invited to participate in E.L. Wright Middle School's Annual Career Fair which will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 7:30-10:30 am. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to talk with individuals in different occupations while increasing their awareness of education and training requirements for various careers. We would so appreciate your consideration of our invitation to present your career to our students.

Classes will begin to enter the gym at 7:30 am. Students will visit the presenters on a rotation schedule. Small groups of students will stop by your table for 12-15 minutes per session. You may talk with them about your occupation, demonstrate any equipment, distribute materials, and answer questions.
