How you can help
Richland Two is deeply grateful for the ongoing support from our community partners. We rely on our partners to help us meet the basic needs of our students and help our families access their needed resources. Addressing the needs of our students, families, and occasionally staff helps impact student success. Through assessment and working with families, we identify the needs and attempt to locate a resource to assist. When community-based resources aren't available, our school social workers benefit from having immediate access to resources to assist. The following items are ways the community can assist our students and families.
Sponsor a School Backpack Program
Several Richland Two schools do not have a designated Backpack Program Sponsor and utilize grant funding and donations to maintain their weekly needs. Sponsors may include any group who wishes to support a school by providing the food for the Backpack Program for a particular school and coordinating the packing and delivering of the supplies. Sponsors could provide for a few students weekly up to meeting the needs of the individual school.
Food & Hygiene Product Donations
All donations have to be coordinated directly with Abby Cobb. Please contact Abby Cobb to arrange drop-offs. They must be arranged in advance. Currently, donation drop-offs will the R2i2 Building in The Village at Sandhills (763 Fashion Dr. Columbia, SC 29229).

Grocery Store Gift Cards
Any location and any increment would be helpful. As a guide, a $50 or more gift card might likely be the most helpful to purchase food for families. However, we will gladly accept any amount.
PayPal
Donations can be made to support programs like Helping Families in Need and the Backpack Program through the Richland Two Education Foundation's PayPalpage. Donors can also provide a check made out to the Richland Two Education Foundation and coordinate with Abby Cobb to deliver the donation. The Foundation is a 501c3 organization, and donations are tax-deductible.
Gas Card Donations
Transportation is a major barrier for families and at times there are limited resources. Gas card donations allow school social workers to help families when other resources aren't available. Any location and increment would be helpful.
