Military Families

Richland Two welcomes its military families. Through our strong partnership with Fort Jackson, Richland Two supports our military families.

We have the largest number (12.5%) of military connected students of all the school districts in South Carolina. We are the school district for Fort Jackson and for military connected students who live in our district and whose parents work at other military installations in South Carolina.

Richland School District Two works closely with Fort Jackson to ensure military-connected students are supported as they transition in and out of the school district. Our schools offer support through Military Family Life Counselors, Student-2-Student Programs, and a District Military Liaison. Additionally, all of our schools are designated Purple Star Schools and have made a commitment to providing transitioning student support, military specific professional development for staff, and honor the Interstate Compact for Educational Opportunity for Military Children.

Through our strong partnership with Fort Jackson, Richland Two supports our military families through the implementation of the Youth Sponsorship Program, and our Adopt A School Program.
