School Counselors

Richland School District Two provides a comprehensive developmental school counseling program in each school and center. School counseling programs are an integral part of students’ daily educational environment and benefit students, parents, teachers, administrators and the overall community. School counselors, formerly referred to as “guidance counselors” in the past, help every student improve academic achievement, personal and social development, and career planning. Richland School District Two school counseling programs adhere to the South Carolina Comprehensive Developmental Guidance and Counseling Program Model.

Role of a School Counselor

Richland School District Two School counselors are certified/ licensed educators with a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling, making them uniquely qualified to address all students’ academic, career and social/emotional development needs by designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success.

SchooLinks is a modern, college and career readiness platform to prepare students for what comes after graduation. SchooLinks helps students discover their interests and strengths, explore colleges and careers, and create an individualized career and academic plan that best reflects their post-secondary goals. SchooLinks in Richland District 2 is accessible in 6th-12th grades by students and their parents.

SchooLinks features are incredibly user-friendly and were designed to streamline the college and career readiness workflow for counselors and staff.
