Monday, April 06 - Attention all GRADUATES: IMPORTANT LEADERSHIP CLASS INFORMATION/DATES
There will be a mandatory Leadership meeting for all graduates on April 15
. I will be available to answer any questions during that time. Also, you will sign up for your presentation on May 1
or May 4
- Graduates need to work in Careerready101 and sign up to take the WorkKeys on April 10 or April 17. These are the last two dates available. There are limited seats so sign up now.
- ALL material for the Leadership Class is due by 5:00 pm on Monday, May 11. No exceptions.
- We are going to the Zoo on Friday, May 8. Please see Mrs. Holland to sign up.
Monday, March 23 - TEDxYouth Conference, April 18
The Charter School has been chosen to take part in the TEDxYouth@ColumbiaSC, the by-youth, for-youth conference for 500 hand-chosen South Carolina teens. On April 18 at the Darla Moore School of Business, you can participate in a a TED conference experience (http://TED.com) uniting students around the the power of ideas. There will be speakers and performers, some in high school, from not only South Carolina, but in fact, the world, who share their ideas and stories. The cost to attend the one day conference is $12.00. We have a limited number of "paid" tickets. Please see Mrs. Holland by March 26 if you are interested in attending.
Tuesday, March 03 - Attention all 2015 GRADUATES!!!
If you are planning to graduate in June 2015, please make sure that you see Mrs. Holland as soon as possible regarding your Leadership Class requirements. One portion of the class is the WorkKeys assessment that all seniors must take prior to graduation. The next scheduled testing is April 10. There is limited seats for the test so make sure you see Mrs. Holland to get your name included on that testing day. Also, portfolio/presentations will be May 1 and May 4. All class materials are due no later than May 11 @5:00 pm.
Monday, February 09 - Parents & Students: Time to Schedule IGP appointments!
The South Carolina Education and Economic Development Act of 2005 (SCEEDA) requires that all students receive career guidance. Students will complete an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) that includes courses required for graduation and a career major of their choice. Parents, guardian, or appointed representatives are invited to participate in this process.
Your student must complete a career assessment (SCOIS) report prior to their IGP appointment. If you have questions about the SCOIS assessment, please contact Mrs. Holland.
Parents, guardians or appointed representatives you may contact Mrs. Bright in the Counseling Department to schedule your student's IGP appointment by calling the school at 803-419-1348 ext 4.
Monday, January 26 - COMPASS Testing, April 23 @ 9:00 AM
Any student interested in attending a Technical College next year needs to take the COMPASS test Thursday, April 23 @ 9:00 AM. Please sign up with Mrs. Holland.
