James Manning, M.A.T., was elected to the board in November 2010 and reelected in 2014. He is a native of Columbia, S.C., and a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School. He received his bachelor's degree in sports medicine and a master's degree in education with a focus on special education from the University of South Carolina.
He works as a network security administrator in the information technology field.
Manning is the former vice president of the Information Systems Security Association. He has served on numerous boards and committees including the Richland Two Education Foundation, Langford Elementary School Naming Committee, Polo Road Elementary School Improvement Council, Forest Lake Elementary School Improvement Council, Richland Two District Teacher of the Year Selection Committee, and State Teacher of the Year Banquet Committee. He is a member of the Decker Boulevard Business Coalition, Arcadia Lakes Rain Garden and Spring Valley Rotary Club, and he was chairman of the advisory board at the Richland Two Charter High School.
Manning and his wife, Donna, have a daughter in Richland Two schools. He has attained Level 3 in the SCSBA Boardmanship Institute.
