Late Pick Up Procedures

November 4, 2019

Dear Parent/Guardian(s),

We are enjoying the new school year and delighted that your student is with us here in the Nest.

As you know, all of us in Richland School District Two care very much about your child and his/her safety.  As such, we have numerous procedures in place to safeguard the well being of your student. Our instructional day is from 7:30 am until 2:25 pm.  We dismiss at 2:25 pm. Parents are expected to pick up their child(ren) in a timely manner in the afternoons. All students should be picked up by 3:00 pm daily.

Please be mindful that staff members are not available for after-school care for unsupervised students.  Following dismissal of students, our teachers and staff members are involved in tutoring, professional development, after-school meetings, clubs and activities for students in addition to having their own family responsibilities.

Starting Monday, November 11, 2019,  students who are not picked up in a timely manner (after 3:00 pm) will be taken into our after-school program, Eagle’s Nest, by a staff member. The person picking up the student must come inside to sign the student out.   Parents will be given a warning for the first time and charged $15.00 for each late pick-up after the warning.  Late pick-up payments may be paid online.

Please understand that placement of your student into Eagle’s Nest after the 3:00 pm cutoff time is for the well-being and safety of your student and to further guarantee supervision and a positive environment.  If you would like information from Eagle’s Nest regarding weekly rates, please contact our Program Director, Ms. Tanger Davato, at 803-699-3580, extension 3132.

Thank you for your continued support.  Please know that the safety and well being of your child is of utmost importance to all of us here in the Nest.
