I am delighted to welcome you and your children to Sandlapper Elementary School.  It is so exciting to begin not only a new school year together, but to build the foundation for a brand new facility and learning community!  So much about Sandlapper is yet to be determined; you will have a major role in making this school the finest!
We are proud of our wonderful facility and the community we have established.  We are proud that we were named a LIGHTHOUSE SCHOOL by the Franklin/Covey Institute in 2017.   We began our Leader in Me journey several years ago that expanded the potential and outcome of each child’s success.  “Sandlapper:  Where Leaders Get Their Start!”  became our motto that echoes down our hallways each morning.   Our new mission selected by students is:
“Leadership:   Choose It!  Own It!  Live It!
The Sandlapper Faculty and Staff is exemplary.  They are highly qualified, dedicated, innovative and caring professionals.  We share a vision of excellence in a safe, nurturing environment where children feel important and understand their role as learners and contributing citizens.
We know that our successes are dependent upon the partnership between the school, home and community.  I encourage you to explore the many opportunities for involvement from PTO activities to mentoring an individual child.  Please take advantage of this unique chance to develop new friendships and build connections to your community as you support your child.
Our Sandlapper website is one vital method of communication.  Enjoy your virtual visit via this site and please continue to visit for updates regarding the ongoing life of our exciting school.  We also communicate through Twitter, our emailed weekly newsletter, the PTO’s Facebook, and the various avenues utilized by teachers.
Please know that my door is always open.  Please do not hesitate to call or stop by the office.  I look forward to working together to make Sandlapper the best it can be!
