As previously communicated, grades for seniors will be finalized by 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. Content/credit recovery for eligible seniors will take place between May 11-21.

Superintendent Dr. Baron Davis announced during the April 21 special called meeting of the Richland Two Board of Trustees that the district is forming a task force to come up with multiple viable options for graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2020. The group, headed by Assistant Superintendent Keith Price, will look for ways to have ceremonies in June or July if we can ensure social distancing as well as alternatives to a traditional ceremony. As a backup, the district has reserved the Colonial Life Arena for August 5-6, 2020.

All students at RNE can access their e-learning work online using a personal device or using the district-issued Chromebooks. Teachers will continue emailing students directly and updating Google Classrooms with information on the e-learning work. Please have your child check their district email and Google classrooms regularly.

For assistance with Chromebooks during the closure, students should begin by reaching out to Mrs. Owens (RNE Technology & Learning Coach). Her email address is sowens@richland2.org.   Any chromebook needing repair will need to be taken to Longleaf Middle at 1160 Longreen Pkwy, Columbia, SC 29229.

Beginning on Monday, 5/4/2020, IT staff will be onsite at Longleaf Middle from 8am to 4pm weekdays to provide walk-in support for students who have damaged devices which need repair, or for limited general assistance.

The repair locations at Dent and Polo will no longer be open after this Friday May 1.

Please be aware that our School Counselors and Administrative Team will be contacting the parents of students who have not submitted any e-learning assignments.

Richland Two now offers outdoor Wi-Fi zones for our students to connect to the Internet using their district-issued Chromebook or a personal device.

Supporting students during the school closure is the district's main focus right now. In addition to providing e-learning/remote learning content for students and meals for children, Richland Two administrators have been committed to helping families who do not have Internet access at home. District staff members have explored several possibilities over the past two weeks. As a result of some premier teamwork, wireless equipment has been installed outside of several schools. Now families can park their cars in the designated locations, connect to the Internet and access their students' e-learning assignments. The outdoor Wi-Fi zones will be accessible seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
