IB Diploma Programme
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
The IB Diploma Programme is open to all qualified juniors and seniors at Richland Northeast High School. Students may chose to complete the entire IB Diploma or enroll in one or more IB Diploma level courses. To pursue the complete IB Diploma, students must meet the following standards:
- Demonstration of success at the honors level in English and at least one other course during grades 9 and 10.
- Completion of Algebra 2
- Completion of foreign language level 3 or willingness to take Ab Initio French
It is also recommended that students complete PE and health before entering the IB Diploma Programme.
Students in the IB Diploma Programme will select from courses in each of the six groups of study in addition to completing the Theory of Knowledge course, the Extended Essay, and the Creativity, Action, and Service component.
Please note that beginning in the fall 2019 school year, students will receive Honors credit for the 1st year of any IB SL course and AP/IB credit for the second year of any IB SL course. All IB courses are two year courses, with the exception of IB Biology SL and IB Physics SL which are both 1 year courses. Students will receive AP/IB credit for both years of any IB HL course.
This change does not affect our class of 2020 seniors.
