Richland Two eSchool Program

Richland Two’s eSchool program is an exciting new opportunity for families in Richland Two interested in a choice for online learning for their students. The eSchool Program offers parents and students a full time virtual learning experience that provides flexibility in learning from home.  Students in this program develop skills as independent learners with personalized learning pathways that support each student’s individual needs.  Students in the program will demonstrate mastery of South Carolina Department of Education standards and Richland Two’s expectations for learning. 

This competency based program focuses on instruction, grading and assessments based on students demonstrating that they have learned the knowledge and skills they are expected to learn as they progress through their education. 

In addition to competency based learning, eSchool students will demonstrate the characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.  Teachers and students will focus on the development of  World Class Knowledge, World class Skills and characteristics important to life and career goals.  Ultimately, eSchool students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century.

As with all schools in Richland Two, the eSchool program employs highly qualified teachers who receive specialized professional development to support students in the online environment.  In addition to synchronous instruction, teachers will also provide intervention to remediate and accelerate students based on their individual needs.

The eSchool program will also provide enrichment and field study opportunities for students to ensure that we meet the needs of the whole child, beyond their academic experiences and including their social emotional well-being.   Students will collaborate with their teachers and classmates both in the online environment and through face-to-face experiences.

As many colleges, universities and businesses move towards online learning as a mainstay, a major goal of the eSchool program is to provide students with the skills, knowledge and disposition necessary to transition successfully to postsecondary institutions and a workforce that depends on online learning.
