WINDSOR ELEMENTARY GETS NEW PRINCIPAL IN JULY

5/27/2021

This summer Windsor Elementary School will welcome new principal DeAnna Savage. Starting July 1, 2021, Savage will replace current principal Denise Quickel who has accepted a district-level administrative position in another Midlands school district.

“For the past 26 years, Mrs. Savage has been building her leadership skills and moving towards this new assignment every step of the way. Since joining the Richland Two family in 2015, she has participated in multiple professional development opportunities and has been productive in teamwork, collaboration and student achievement,” said Dr. Davis.

Savage is currently an assistant principal at Pontiac Elementary School.  “I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to lead Windsor Elementary School. I am excited to support faculty, staff, parents, and the community as we provide a rigorous learning environment for our students. I promise to lead with passion, innovation, and dedication,” said Savage.

In 2004, Savage began her educational career in Utah as a fourth-grade teacher. Like many military families, her family has relocated often giving Savage the opportunity to gain teaching experience in Maryland, California and Virginia. After arriving in Richland Two six years ago Savage taught fifth-grade at Killian Elementary and
Pontiac Elementary school before transitioning into administration.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Weber State University in Utah (2004); a Master of Education in educational administration from the University of South Carolina (2017) and she is pursuing a Doctorate of Education in instructional leadership from the American College of Education in Indiana. Savage and her husband, Patrick, have three adult children. Her youngest will be a senior at the University of South Carolina next year, having graduated from Spring Valley High School in Richland School District Two in 2018.
