Voting Item: Consent Agenda
As part of the consent agenda, the board received a technology report with updates on Instructional Technology and Professional Development, Infrastructure and Support, and Business Systems.

Special Recognitions
Richland Two employees were recognized during the Special Recognition portion of the meeting:
Spring Valley High School Boys Track and Field Coach John Jones was named the 2015 National Track and Field Coach of the Year by the National High School Coaches Association.
Westwood High School office professional Carla Young received certification from the National Association of Educational Office Professionals.
Richland Two’s 2015–2016 Teachers of the Year were recognized and given Teacher of the Year plaques for their classrooms.
Student Focus: Spring Valley High School
Students from Spring Valley High School shared a brief presentation highlighting the Visual and Performing Arts programs. Included in the presentation was a video showcasing student work, a choral performance and students shared their experiences with the board.
Voting Item: Certification of Delegates for Annual SCSBA Delegate Assembly
The board selected Amelia McKie and Craig Plank as delegates, and Dr. Cheryl Caution-Parker and James Manning as alternate delegates for the Annual SCSBA Delegate Assembly. According to Article V, Section 4 of the SCSBA Constitution: Each active member board will certify its voting delegate(s) to SCSBA before the deadline date for such certification. An alternate delegate for each voting delegate will also be named and certified. The deadline this year is November 13, 2015

Dr. Baron Davis presented an update on R2i2 regarding teacher certification, fall programming and transportation.

Report: Communications Audit
In March 2015 the district's Communications and Strategic Partnerships Office worked with the National School Public Relations Association to conduct a comprehensive communications audit. NSPRA submitted the Communications Audit Report to the Communications and Strategic Partnerships Office in August. Chief Communications Officer Libby Roof reviewed the results of the audit with the board.

Update: District Mentoring Program
Dr. Baron Davis and the Mentoring Steering Committee presented information on the district-wide initiative to promote and support mentoring programs at all grade levels. He also shared a common framework that all programs are expected to follow and information about a key event.
