Richland Two September 25, 2018 School Board Meeting Highlights

At 5:30 p.m., the board convened in executive session to discuss student appeals and student admission requests into the district's Adult Education Program. Public session resumed at 6:30 p.m.

Voting Items

Consent Agenda — The Board approved the Consent Agenda, which included minutes from the meeting on September 18; a diploma petition; and employment recommendations, releases and in-district transfers.

Executive Session Items — The Board voted on items from executive session including student appeals and a student admission request into the district's Adult Education Program.

Policy Revisions — The Board approved Policy Revisions DID (Inventories/Fixed Assets), DK (Payment Procedures), DKB (Salary Deductions)

Policy Revisions — The Board received proposed changes to Board Policies DDB (Online Fundraising Campaigns/Crowdfunding), DI.DIE (Fiscal Accounting/Audits [NEW]), DKC Expense Authorization Reimbursements), AC (Non-discrimination/Equal Opportunity), GBA (Open Hiring/Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action), GCE (Professional Staff Recruitment), GCEC (Posting and Advertising of Professional Vacancies), GCF (Professional Staff Hiring), GDF (Support Staff Hiring). The board made a motion of lay Police DDB (Online Fundraising Campaigns/Crowdfunding) to the side.

 Discipline Update — Cleveland Smith, chief administrative officer, shared an update on discipline in the district.

Summer Food Program Update — Abby K. Cobb, lead social worker, presented information on the Summer Food Program.

Student Learning Data Snapshot — The Office of Accountability and Assessment shared with the board student learning data from the 2017-2018 school year.
