Faculty Focus: Transition Services
Richland Two Transition Specialist Sarah Park from Blythewood High School, highlighted the work that she and other Transition Specialists are doing to help our students with disabilities be college and/or career-ready. Transition Services are required for every student with an Individual Education Plan.

Update: Sodexo Summer Nutrition Program
The board received information about the district’s 2016 Summer Nutrition Program. This program was a partnership between Sodexo, Richland Library and Richland Two. The program served 48,607 meals to children during the months of June, July and August.
 
Update: Early Childhood Education Program
Center for Child Development (CFCD) Lead Teacher Quinne Evans presented an update to the board on the CFCD program. During the 2015–2016 school year, Child Development in Richland School District Two became entirely a needs-­based, tuition-free program funded by Title I. The report included successes from the 2015–2016 school year along with goals and next steps for the 2016–2017 school year.

Information: Jackson Creek Elementary School Attendance Lines
The Board received as information a report that outlined the process, parameters and goals for redrawing the elementary school attendance lines for Jackson Creek Elementary School. Richland Two will open its 20th elementary school, Jackson Creek Elementary, in the fall of 2017 to relieve overcrowding at Conder, Joseph Keels, and Windsor elementary schools. The board also received an update on current enrollment and specifically the current enrollment and building capacity at Forest Lake Elementary.

Report: 2016-2017 Back-to-School
Superintendent Debbie Hamm presented the 2016–2017 Back to School report that included enrolment information, employee numbers and important district facts along with a video highlighting the first day of school.
