SVHS senior earns college-sponosored National Merit Scholarship
SVHS senior earns college-sponosored National Merit Scholarship
7/16/2019
Spring Valley High School graduate Paul R. Dubberly is the most recent recipient of a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship. Dubberly will be attending Clemson University in the fall with a possible career field of Mechanical Engineering (Robotics).
Dubberly joins five additional 2019 Richland Two graduates who earned college-sponsored National Merit scholarships. Those students are: Alexander L. Lofton, University of South Carolina (Blythewood High School); Katherine S. Brook, University of South Carolina and Margaret R. Greene, Emory College (Richland Northeast High School); and Isak Jatoi, University of South Carolina and Gillian E. Patton, Vanderbilt University (Spring Valley High School).
These six students are among about 4,100 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities. Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the finalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
