RIDGE VIEW PRINCIPAL RECOGNIZED FOR SUPPORTING STUDENT ACTIVITIES
RIDGE VIEW PRINCIPAL RECOGNIZED FOR SUPPORTING STUDENT ACTIVITIES
6/25/2020
Learning new dance moves during Hispanic Heritage Month or allowing students to slime her to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Dr. Brenda Mack-Foxworth does it all. Her enthusiastic support of student activities has won her the South Carolina Association of Student Councils Administrator of the Year award.
Dr. Mack-Foxworth, principal of Ridge View High School, calls the school’s Student Council the voice of students which affords each student an opportunity to be heard.
“I am truly honored to receive this award and grateful to support all Student Council members who put in countless hours of service for the school, with passion and spirit. Many of our students take the most rigorous college level courses and hold top positions in their class rankings. In addition to Student Council, these dedicated students are involved in other academic honor societies, clubs, and athletics both on and off campus,” said Dr. Mack-Foxworth.
“What sets Dr. Mack apart from other administrators the most, is her effort to establish a personal connection with each student. She knows what each student does and makes it a point to ask them how they are doing when she sees them. She is constantly helping us think of new ways to make the school better,” said Student Body President Christa Joby.
Paige Fennell, the Student Activities Director at Ridge View, says there’s very little the principal won’t do to support Student Council. “She is always eager to assist us, whether it is handing out cupcakes for honor roll students, or passing out candy to local students for Trunk-or-Treat. She is devoted to always supporting student activities. Not only is she a constant presence at our many events, but she loves to shout us out on social media.”
The South Carolina Association of Student Councils, is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing student leadership, good citizenship, and cooperation among the student councils in the state.
