RICHLAND TWO STUDENTS RECEIVING LIVE ONLINE HOMEWORK HELP
RICHLAND TWO STUDENTS RECEIVING LIVE ONLINE HOMEWORK HELP
2/3/2021
Richland Two students have started receiving live, online homework help in ELA and Math six days a week, including Sunday afternoons. The service is provided by iTutor, an Accredited Digital Learning Institute. Sessions at 35 schools started January 19 and are funded using federal funds designated for COVID-19 relief.
Over the next three months, iTutor will offer more than 6,000 hours of sessions, focused on math and English language arts/writing support. Students log in and meet with their iTutor Educator and receive assistance on their current classroom assignments. The prescheduled interactive sessions are delivered after school hours by iTutor state-certified educators, meeting inside iTutor’s virtual classroom. All academic support is aligned to Richland Two curricula and follows South Carolina standards.
Since 2016, iTutor has delivered homebound and alternative education services as well as academic tutoring to more than 5,000 district students.
“When we considered options for the best way to help support teaching and learning through the pandemic, we quickly turned to iTutor, which has been a trusted and proven partner to the District and our schools for more than four years,” Richland Two Superintendent Dr. Baron Davis said. “We believe students and their families will enjoy and appreciate the live homework help sessions.”
iTutor founder and CEO Harry Aurora thanked Dr. Davis and Richland School District Two for their confidence, and said his company is dedicated to the academic success of all Richland Two students.
“The Covid pandemic has been a challenge for students nationwide, including Richland Two’s,” he said. “I am confident, given our strong partnership with Richland Two teachers and schools, for the last four years, that iTutor’s Educators will deliver the support and assistance Richland Two students need to continue pursuing their pathways to purpose.”
