RICHLAND TWO NAMES TALENT ACQUISITION MANAGER
RICHLAND TWO NAMES TALENT ACQUISITION MANAGER
12/16/2020
Richland School District Two has named
Sharon Nelson as its Talent Acquisition Manager. In this role, she will lead the district’s initiatives to recruit and retain highly qualified certified and classified employees who provide or support premier educational experiences for our students.
Nelson joined Richland Two in 2016 and assumed the role of Recruitment and Retention Coordinator in 2018. She has played a key role in implementing innovative and virtual recruitment activities that helped the district begin the 2020–2021 school year with a 99 percent fill rate. Nelson has been instrumental in the implementation of PREMIER 100, an initiative established by Richland Two Superintendent Dr. Baron R. Davis to recruit and retain male educators of color. She has also supported the district’s recruitment and retention priorities through the development of partnerships with collegiate universities in Ponce and San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Columbia College, as well as with the Teacher Cadets, Teaching Fellows and Call Me MiSTER programs.
Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional English/Business Management from South Carolina State University, and a master’s degree in Business Administration/Global Management from the University of Phoenix. She has obtained certification in the areas of Human Resource Management and Talent Acquisition. She is married to Justin Nelson, Sr. and they have three children, Ava-Symone, Justin, Jr. and Hezekiah Nelson.
