RICHLAND TWO ANNOUNCES THE MVP PROGRAM FOR FREE/REDUCED MEALS
RICHLAND TWO ANNOUNCES THE MVP PROGRAM FOR FREE/REDUCED MEALS
8/4/2022
Richland School District Two today announced its policy for free and reduced-price meals for children served in schools under the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.
Commonly known as the Meal Value Plan (MVP), it allows school districts to provide breakfast and lunch to qualifying students at reduced prices or for free. Families that become MVPs save money on meals AND school fees.
During the pandemic, the USDA provided public school districts with waivers to provide free breakfasts and lunches for all students. The waivers ended in June 2022. Starting with the 2022-2023 school year, ALL STUDENTS unless they qualify as MVPs will be required to pay for breakfast and lunch.
Families have to meet income requirements explained in the MVP application. Families must apply each year even if they qualified the previous school year.
Families can apply for the MVP program by registering at
family.titank12.com
and following the steps provided on the website. Families will also be able to check eligibility requirements and get updates on the status of their Meal Value Plan application.
For more information about MVP, visit the district’s website:
