NEW FOOTBALL STADIUM OPENS AT RICHLAND NORTHEAST HIGH SCHOOL

9/1/2021

Richland Northeast High School celebrated the opening of its new football stadium with a win Friday night against Andrew Jackson High School. Two ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held for the new football stadium and facilities that are located on the school’s campus at 7500 Brookfield Road, Columbia, S.C. 29223.

Former athletes who were inducted into the Richland Northeast Hall of Fame last week were recognized during half time of the inaugural game. The inductees are Robert “Bobby” Urban (Class of 1984), Henri Stanley (Class of 1996), Allison Simons Wise (Class of 1999), Mark Stanley (Class of 2001) and Stacy Simpson Lyons (Class of 2002).

The new stadium, with a seating capacity of 4,000, was made possible by the Pathways to Premier Facilities Bond Referendum that voters overwhelmingly passed in November 2018. The new additions also include a field house, weight room, training room, home and visitor locker rooms, Mondo track, air conditioned press box, concession stands and restrooms.
