Richland Two students and employees were recognized for their accomplishments

Voting Item: Policy JII (Student Concerns, Complaints and Grievances)
‎The board voted to approve the proposal for policy JII which pertains to concerns, complaints and grievances submitted by students, parents or guardians. This policy establishes a basic structure for the grievance procedure within the district.

Voting Item: Policy BDE (Board Committees)
The board voted to approve the proposal for policy BDE which establishes the basic structure for the board’s use of committees comprised of board members.

Voting Item: Alternative to Expulsion Recommendations for Certain Categories of Offenses
The board voted to approve the presented recommendations regarding alternative options to expulsions for certain categories of offenses committed by students.

Report: National Board Teachers as Mentors
Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Nancy Gregory shared information with the board about a pilot program for the 2015–2016 school year that will designate National Board Certified teachers as formal mentors for new teachers.

Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Nancy Gregory presented the proposed changes to policies IKF and IKF-R to the board. These policies pertain to the district’s graduation requirements.

Proposal: Policy IKEA (High School Credit for Middle School)
Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Nancy Gregory presented the proposed changes to policy IKEA to the board. The policy establishes the basic structure for awarding high school credit to middle school students.
