Report: School Resource Officers
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott shared information about the updated Memorandum of Agreement between the sheriff’s department and school districts, training for SROs, DARE Officers and Youth Arbitration Program.
 
 
Report: TransformSC
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Baron Davis presented information to the board regarding TransformSC. Established in 2013 by the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness in collaboration with business leaders, educators, parents and policymakers, the initiative’s purpose is to transform the public education system so that every student graduates prepared for careers, college and citizenship.

Election: Board Officers
The board elected board officers for the 2016-2017 school year: Chairman James Manning, Vice Chairwoman Amelia McKie and Secretary Craig Plank.
