HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATIONS
10/7/2021
Richland School District Two is observing National Hispanic Heritage Month. The district began paying tribute to Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society via social media posts. An exhibit celebrating Hispanic culture and heritage is on display in the lobby of the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2) located at 763 Fashion Drive, Columbia, S.C.
The district is inviting Richland Two families, community members, staff and media to the following events:
Hispanic Heritage: A Student Celebration of Hope
Richland Two will host Hispanic Heritage: A Student Celebration of Hope at R2i2 on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 6 p.m. Presentations have been prepared by students from each of the district’s five high schools. Visitors can participate in the interactive presentations (lasting not more than 15 minutes each). Guided tours of the exhibit will be provided and students will receive treat bags. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place. Masks are required at R2i2.
Dia de los Muertos Celebration
T-Mobile, the Richland County Recreation Commission and Latino Communications are sponsoring Dia de los Muertos Celebration on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. There will be a showcase of the PG rated, fantasy film, The Big Wish. Lots of popcorn, drinks, and candy will be available at the drive-in movie event taking place at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, located at 11020 Two Notch Road, Elgin, SC.
