GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR CFK NORTH ON JANUARY 21

1/17/2020

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Center for Knowledge North (CFK North) is getting a permanent home. On Tuesday, January 21, from 10:30-11:30 am, the community is invited to join Richland Two School Board members, Superintendent Dr. Baron Davis and others, at the groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on the new permanent facility for CFK North.

Currently, the center is housed in portables and a few classrooms in Muller Road Middle School. The new facility was designed by Goodwin Mills Caywood (GMC) and is being built by H.G. Reynolds. The project is funded with $9.8 million from the November 2018 Bond Referendum. Richland Two voters approved the $468.4 million bond referendum for safety and security improvements, transportation needs and improvements to academic spaces and technology upgrades.

CFK North’s vision fosters the development of the whole child through a rigorous education model. Young scholars gain cultural literacy and an appreciation of multiple perspectives through cumulative, integrated and objective-based education. The ceremony will be held at 1043 Muller Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.
