FLU AND CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

2/28/2020

Richland School District Two works in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC)-Midlands Region to monitor emerging health concerns that may impact our schools. As such, we are following the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation closely, and the district's lead nurse receives regular updates from SC DHEC and the CDC.

It is important to remember that we are still seeing cases of the flu in our area. To help prevent the spread of the flu, students must stay home if they have a fever (100ºF or higher) until the fever has resolved without the use of medicines for a duration of 24 hours. Other preventative measures include covering your nose and mouth with a tissue or upper sleeve when you cough or sneeze and washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub.
