EMERGING LEADERS AND ENTREPRENEURS WIN DECA AWARDS
EMERGING LEADERS AND ENTREPRENEURS WIN DECA AWARDS
3/8/2022
Several Ridge View High School students showcasing their entrepreneurial and leadership skills at the annual 2022 State Career Development Conference in North Charleston, SC last week came home big winners. The Ridge View chapter of DECA competed against every high school chapter in the state, consisting of some one-thousand plus students.
Ridge View Career and Technology Education teacher Ernest Bridges says each of his students placed in the TOP 10 for their individual events in Start Up Business Plan, Project Management Community Awareness, Travel & Tourism Team Decision Making, and Project Management Business Solutions. The Top 10 winners are:
Keziah Jenkins, Jayla Foster and Edyn McCollum - Start Up Business Plan
Faith Aiken - Project Management Community Awareness
Daiyonna Smith and Aniya Castella - Travel & Tourism Team Decision Making
Kimora Brown, Petra Irick, and Erika Atkinson - Project Management Business Solutions
Because three students placed First in Project Management Business Solutions, the Ridge View Chapter will progress and compete at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in April.
Westwood High School students Jadon Reed and Jakaria Edwards placed Second in Hospitality Services Team Decision Making. DECA is a non-profit student organization with a 75-year history of preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
