DISTRICT WILL TEMPORARILY SHIFT TO ELEARNING FOR ALL STUDENTS JAN. 4-15

12/18/2020

In an effort to prevent an unexpected shutdown after Winter Break, Richland School District Two will temporarily shift to eLearning for all students from Jan. 4–15, 2021. The district will observe the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday, Monday, Jan. 18, 2021. On December 4, the district announced  that Monday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 22 will be eLearning days for all students. This means all students will participate in eLearning following their school’s current bell schedule. In-person instruction for students who selected classroom communities or hybrid models for Phase 2 will resume on Jan. 19, 2021.

Employees have the option to work remotely Jan. 4–15. Front Offices will be open in order to provide assistance to our parents and students. Therefore, some employees will need to report to work to complete essential tasks that can't be handled remotely. Please note supervisors will notify employees if they are needed to report to their work locations. All employees will return to working on-site on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021.

Richland Two employees continue to work hard to maintain safe and effective school operations.
Based on the surge in the number of employees placed in quarantine after Thanksgiving Break, district administrators are concerned that the weeks following Winter Break could place an even greater strain on district operations. The medical professionals who assisted the district with developing the eLearning triggers confirmed that district operations could be impacted by the number of employees in isolation or quarantine.
