Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with festive events

During Hispanic Heritage Month, Richland School District Two will pay tribute to Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society with several community events.

These events feature music, art, food tasting, salsa dancing and much more, all while honoring the rich Hispanic traditions, history and culture. All events are free and open to the public. National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15.

The media and community are invited to join us for:

Hispanic Heritage United: Musical Celebration — Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 6:30-8 p.m., at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2). The event features DJ Angel, and attendees will hear Latin music and history from a cross section of Hispanic culture. Attendees are encouraged to wear clothes that reflect their heritage.

Hispanic Heritage United: A Taste of Salsa — Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:30-8 p.m., at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2) Student Center. The event features salsa lessons by Chatelle Graham and Hispanic food tasting.

Hispanic Heritage United: Voices of Our Youth — Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 6:30-8 p.m., at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2). Student showcase their art work, inspired by the theme “I am Hispanic…Soy Hispano; I am Latino…Soy Latino; I am American…Soy Americano; We are United…Somos Unidos: The Hispanic/Latino Perspective.”
