Bond referendum presentation nights
Bond referendum presentation nights
Richland School District Two has scheduled more information presentations on the upcoming bond referendum. The community and media is invited to learn more about the bond referendum at these presentations:
October 15, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Brookland Baptist Northeast
October 22, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at The Brook
October 23, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center
November 1, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2)
Voters will see two bond referendum questions asking to issue bonds not to exceed $468,406,000 on the November 6 ballot. The money would fund projects to include safety/security improvements at schools and for buses, improvements to academic learning spaces, additions and improvements to arts/athletic facilities and technology infrastructure improvements.
The questions grow out of the work of many district partners — employees, parents and community members — who have spent a great deal of time researching, reviewing data and giving feedback on facility needs across the district. Using this data, the district has developed a funding plan that addresses safety and security facility needs and updates older facilities to support 21st century teaching and learning in every school.
