Richland Two March 27 2018 School Board Meeting Highlights
At 5:30 p.m., after calling the meeting to order, the Richland Two Board of Trustees convened in executive session to discuss contractual matters regarding use of facilities; student expulsions; student appeals; student admission requests into the district’s adult education program, employment recommendations; employment releases and in-district transfers. Public session resumed at 6:30 p.m.
Student Focus
Dr. Lyn Mueller, Center for Inquiry’s lead teacher, shared information about the Center’s school-wide literacy initiative.
Special Recognitions
State Championship basketball teams from Spring Valley and Ridge View high schools were recognized at the school Board meeting.
Members of the 5A Girls State Basketball championship winning team, the Spring Valley Lady Vikings, include coaches and staff: Megan Assey, Teresa Legette, Christeen Hagood, Pamela Key, Julie Sandy, Mary McAlister and Rodain Delus. Team members are Jephuneaa Askew, Delana Bailey, Cilera Bynum, Destiny Coleman, Deanna Etheridge, Jordyn Garza, Kymber Lee, Taylor Lewis, Kayla Taylor, Kenadi Taylor, Lauryn Taylor, Kristian Wall, Tykiera Wiley and Ashley Williamson. The Ridge View Blazers’ first ever state championship team includes coaches and staff Yerrick Stoneman, Fred Buckson, Wendall Capeheart, Derrick Crawford, Corbin Landers, Adam McDowell, Christian Savage and Dominique Harris. Team members are JaVon Anderson, Kobe Bell, Ja’Von Benson, Treyvon Bouknight, Brennen Bynum, Quentin Covington, Jaaron Greene, Crosby Harris-James, Cameron James, Patrick Jenkins, Raysean Jenkins, Joseph McKenny, Senika McKie, Walyn Napper, Xavier Parrott, Tyler Rice and Malcolm Wilson. Killian Elementary Principal Stacey Franklin was recognized for being named the S.C. Basketball Official of the Year by the S.C. Basketball Officials Association.
