BLYTHEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL RIBBON CUTTING FOR BIODIESEL LAB ON MARCH 18 - NATIONAL BIODIESEL DAY

Blythewood High School students have garnered national attention for their biodiesel production laboratory, which converts used cooking oil into biodiesel fuel. The media is invited to a ribbon cutting and demonstration on Friday, March 18, which will showcase the lab, which is only the second of its kind in the United States. An expansion of the biodiesel program was made possible by grants from the South Carolina Energy Office and Green Energy Biofuels.

WHAT: Ribbon cutting for the Bengal Biodiesel Laboratory - Students will demonstrate the biodiesel production process and give a tour of the production and analytical equipment.  The event will end with the student made biodiesel fueling the school’s tractor.
