Richland Two August 14, 2018 School Board Meeting Highlights
At 5:30 p.m., the board convened in executive session to discuss student appeals and contractual matters regarding the sale of property, the transfer of property and the lease of property. Public session resumed at 6:30 p.m.
Special Recognitions
Alicia McCall from Spring Valley High School was a first place winner at the Future Business Leaders of American State Leadership Conference.
Deiveek Kerai, Abhijith Nair and Pallavi Rao from Spring Valley High School won first place awards at the S.C. HOSA State Leadership Conference.
Reilly Arford from Ridge View High School was named Youth Advocacy Committee Chair for the S.C. Human Trafficking Task Force.
Zipporah Little from Ridge View High School was named S.C. CATE School Counselor of the Year.
Kason Dalton from Dent Middle School was named S.C. History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute.
Stan Ford, Ronald Howard, Larry Medlin, Billy Petoskey and Adam Woodley from the Support Service Center were recognized for receiving the Fields of Excellence Awards from Pioneer Athletics.
Richland School District Two received the A4LE SC (Association 4 Learning Environments – South Carolina) Excellence Award, presented by architecture firm LS3P. A4LE is a worldwide group of individuals interested in the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of schools and higher education facilities. The award recognizes the finest school construction projects in South Carolina.
