Voting Item: Contractual Matter
The board voted to authorize MB Kahn to update the 2014 10-year Facility Study at a cost not to exceed $10,000.
Voting Item: Policy JICA and Administrative Rule JICA-R (Student Dress)
The board voted to approve the recommended changes to Policy JICA and JICA-R (Student Dress). Prior to approving this policy, the board voted to suspend Policy BG/BGD requiring two readings for policy approval. This was necessary in order to update Policy JICA and Administrative Rule JICA-R before the start of the 2015-2016 school year.

Voting Item: Technology/Device Pilot Certification
The board voted to adopt the Digital Device Pilot Proviso for FY 2015–2016 offered by the S.C. Department of Education. This pilot program is for the purchase of electronic devices and digital content. Districts receiving approval from the S.C. State Board of Education may purchase devices and digital content directly from a state approved vendor.

Update: Read to Succeed
Chief Instructional Officer Nancy Gregory presented an update on the implementation of Act 284 (Read to Succeed) in the district. The goal of the Read to Succeed program is to make certain all students graduate from high school with the reading and writing skills they need to be college and career ready.
