29 STUDENTS AWARDED WITH ACADEMIC HONORS FROM COLLEGE BOARD NATIONAL RECOGNITION PROGRAMS

Blythewood, Richland Northeast and Spring Valley High School students excelled in College Board assessments and schoolwork to earn these awards, which colleges use to identify academically competitive underrepresented students
Twenty-nine students at Blythewood, Richland Northeast and Spring Valley High School have earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them connect to colleges and stand out during the admissions process.
These students may have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and are African American, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town.
At Blythewood High receiving National African-American Recognition are TyMaya Sims, Christopher Gidney, Izuchukwu Emetu, Malaika Snyder, Sarah Speed, Chad Averette, Donavan Goins and Zachary Brown. Receiving National Hispanic Recognition are Caroline Cadena and Joceline Paez. And receiving National Small Town and Rural Recognition is Zachary Brown.
At Richland Northeast High receiving National African-American Recognition are Naiya Cunningham, Maricellyn McDonald, James Wilcher and Carrena Spann and Jayla Fletcher who are currently attending the Governor's School of the Arts.
At Spring Valley High School receiving National Hispanic Recognition is Angelina Cain. Receiving National African American Recognition are Aniya Johnson, Bethany Benjamin, Chinira Godfrey, Gregory Bailey, Kaelyn Felix, Lauryn Keels, Paige Bervine-Burke, Paige Turner, Sarah Hedley and Zarah Burleson.
At Westwood High School receiving National African American Recognition is Logan Rush. Receiving National African American Recognition and National Rural and Small Town Recognition is Luther Bells.
