The SCASC presented Richland Northeast, Ridge View, Spring Valley and Westwood High schools with an Honor Council Gold Award. Blythewood High received the Silver Honor Council Award.

Richland School District Two is hosting a Career Fair to inform prospective bus drivers about a comprehensive salary, bonus and incentive package designed to attract and keep them in the district.

Richland Two is partnering with Prisma Health to offer a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for students who are 12 and older as well as for other individuals eligible for the vaccine who live in the same household with the Richland Two student(s).

The School Improvement Council (SIC) at Round Top Elementary is one of seven SICs to be named to the South Carolina School Improvement Council’s 2021 Honor Roll for their significant efforts to foster civic engagement in public education.
9/9/2020 - FOUR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WIN NATIONAL TRACK COMPETITION
Four Richland School District Two students made history during the summer by winning a national title in Track and Field. Paris Asmond, Peyton Hightower, Madison Ross, and Olivia Taylor became the youngest group of females from South Carolina to win a National Championship for the 4x400 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) relay race.

Bridge Creek Medical, Engineering, and Discovery (MED) through Arts Magnet School, Summit Parkway Middle School, and Ridge View Arts Innovation for Medical Sciences Magnet School have received awards from the SC/NSPRA.

7/15/2020 - DISTRICT RESPONDS TO GOVERNOR'S PRESS CONFERENCE
Administrators from Richland Two along with the Richland Two Reopening Schools Task Force met after Governor Henry McMaster held a press conference regarding reopening schools. As planned, district administrators will present the final draft of the district’s reopening plan during public session of the Tuesday, July 21, 2020 board meeting. The final draft will be based on the phased re-entry plan that was presented at the July 9 Special Called Board Meeting.

4/1/2020 - E-LEARNING/REMOTE LEARNING
On March 31, 2020, the South Carolina Department of Education released guidance for districts to use in formulating plans to count e-learning and remote learning toward the completion of the second semester of the 2019-2020 school year. Richland Two's instructional leaders are working on our plan. No later than April 10, we will share the plan teachers and then our parents and students.

12/30/2019 - HOLIDAY GIVING TOTALS
The holidays were brighter for many, thanks to the hard work of Richland Two high school students. Each of the district’s five high schools, in cooperation with our elementary and middle schools, hosted service projects designed to encourage students to explore, understand and address needs within the community.
12/27/2019 - SPM STUDENT WINS STATE PEACE POSTER CONTEST
Eighth-grader Makayla Brown has been named the state winner of the Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest. Her poster, depicting the theme “Journey of Peace,” will now be judged along with 66,000 other posters worldwide.
12/27/2019 - SES TEACHER NAMED DEC. ROOKIE OF THE BLOCK
First-year music teacher, William Melven, was recognized as the December 2019 Rookie Teacher of the Block. The award is sponsored by H&R Block, a dedicated partner of Richland School District Two. Mr. Roberts was surprised with the announcement on the school’s morning TV show.

1/20/2018 - BMS SIC named to honor roll
The Blythewood Middle School Improvement Council was named to the SC School Improvement Council’s (SC-SIC) 2018 Honor Roll for their significant efforts to foster civic engagement in public education. BMS’s SIC is one of only 19 public schools in SC to receive this honor.
5/31/2017 - Richland Two Summer Hours
Richland Two schools, centers and administrative offices will again operate on a four‐day work week beginning Monday, June 5, 2017, and ending Monday, August 7, 2017.
11/14/2016 - Sparkleberry County Fair donated $23,000 for teacher grants
Thirty-five Richland Two teachers will be able to implement projects on their wish list, thanks to the Sparkleberry Country Fair. Fair chairman John Monroe presented a $23,000 check to Richland Two Superintendent Dr. Debbie Hamm to pay for the projects. The money comes from proceeds from the 2016 Sparkleberry Country Fair.
11/11/2016 - Richland Two hosts Girls and Pearls Conference
Just imagine more than 500 girls wearing pearls while chatting about life’s experiences. These young ladies aren’t debutantes and won’t be “coming out.” They are guests of Richland Two’s first annual Girls and Pearls conference, a new mentoring initiative. The girls will learn how much they matter and connect with mentors who can help provide guidance in their lives.

10/27/2015 - Richland Two statements regarding incident at Spring Valley High School
Statement from Dr. Debbie Hamm, Richland School District Two Superintendent:
Our District is deeply concerned about an incident that occurred at Spring Valley High School today. The incident took place between a school resource officer employed by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and a student. Video of the incident is circulating on social media.

On Oct. 23, 2015, the S.C. State Department of Education released results for SCPASS, ACT Aspire and ACT tests. Richland Two scores are comparable with state averages on the new standardized tests that were administered for the first time in the spring of 2015.
