3/15/2018 - 2018–2019 Personnel Announcements
At a board meeting Tuesday, March 13, 2018, Superintendent Baron R. Davis recommended and the Richland Two Board of Trustees approved several personnel recommendations for the 2018–2019 school year.

1/20/2018 - BMS SIC named to honor roll
The Blythewood Middle School Improvement Council was named to the SC School Improvement Council’s (SC-SIC) 2018 Honor Roll for their significant efforts to foster civic engagement in public education. BMS’s SIC is one of only 19 public schools in SC to receive this honor.
5/31/2017 - Richland Two Summer Hours
Richland Two schools, centers and administrative offices will again operate on a four‐day work week beginning Monday, June 5, 2017, and ending Monday, August 7, 2017.
1/3/2017 - Bus Driver Incentive Package
At the meeting, the Richland Two Board of Trustees took steps to improve bustransportation by approving the implementation of an incentive package that awards bonuses to Richland School District Two school bus drivers
11/14/2016 - Sparkleberry County Fair donated $23,000 for teacher grants
Thirty-five Richland Two teachers will be able to implement projects on their wish list, thanks to the Sparkleberry Country Fair. Fair chairman John Monroe presented a $23,000 check to Richland Two Superintendent Dr. Debbie Hamm to pay for the projects. The money comes from proceeds from the 2016 Sparkleberry Country Fair.
11/11/2016 - Richland Two hosts Girls and Pearls Conference
Just imagine more than 500 girls wearing pearls while chatting about life’s experiences. These young ladies aren’t debutantes and won’t be “coming out.” They are guests of Richland Two’s first annual Girls and Pearls conference, a new mentoring initiative. The girls will learn how much they matter and connect with mentors who can help provide guidance in their lives.
10/13/2016 - Richland Two announces personnel reorganization
On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, Richland Two Superintendent Debbie Hamm and Superintendent-Elect Baron Davis announced details of the plan to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for when Dr. Hamm retires on June 30, 2017, and Dr. Davis takes over as superintendent.

Several high school games have been rescheduled following S.C. Governor Nikki Haley’s order to close Richland School District Two Schools Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 5-7. Events are organized by school below.

Longleaf Middle School Orchestra teacher Taniesha Hines is breaking cultural barriers in the classroom. She is working with teachers to ensure that orchestra programs become more and more diverse.

Richland School District Two Food Services, operated by Sodexo will again serve free, nutritious meals on weekdays this summer. Students up to age 18 can enjoy a variety of healthy breakfasts and lunches that meet and exceed nutritional standards set by the United States Department of Agriculture and the National School Lunch Program.

Three graduating seniors are the recipients of National Merit Scholarships. The students are Itai Almor, Richland Northeast High School; and Krishna T. Gorrepati and Samuel H. Bell, Spring Valley High School.
5/10/2016 - Westwood High School Names New Head Basketball Coach
The boys basketball program at Westwood High School has a new head coach. Jeffrey DiBattisto comes to Richland Two from Dreher High School in Richland One where he served as Head Boys Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director. His career spans 16 years.

Statement from Dr. Debbie Hamm, Richland School District Two Superintendent:
Our District is deeply concerned about an incident that occurred at Spring Valley High School today. The incident took place between a school resource officer employed by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and a student. Video of the incident is circulating on social media.

On Oct. 23, 2015, the S.C. State Department of Education released results for SCPASS, ACT Aspire and ACT tests. Richland Two scores are comparable with state averages on the new standardized tests that were administered for the first time in the spring of 2015.

Faculty Focus: New to Two
Two of the district’s first year teachers and Richland Two graduates, Martin Sims from Spring Valley High School and Kiara Pauling from Catawba Trail Elementary School, spoke about the support they have received from the district as new teachers and their reasons for returning to Richland Two to begin their teaching careers.
8/28/2015 - Partnerships help with back-to-school necessities
The beginning of the school year can be a stressful time, especially when it comes to purchasing school supplies. In an effort to offset back-to-school expenses for families in need, Richland School District Two joined a number of community businesses, organizations and volunteers to sponsor Stuff-The-Bus and Stuff-A-Cruiser donation drives throughout northeast Richland County.
8/26/2015 - School Board conducts Superintendent's evaluation
On Thursday, August 20, and Monday, August 24, 2015, the Richland School District Two Board of Trustees met to conduct Superintendent Dr. Debbie Hamm’s performance evaluation. This annual evaluation is required by board policy and by the district’s employment agreement with the superintendent.
8/13/2015 - District hires Diversity Officer
At the Tuesday, August 11, 2015 board meeting, Superintendent Debbie Hamm recommended and the Richland School District Two Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Helen Nelson Grant as Richland Two’s first Chief Diversity and Multicultural Inclusion Officer.
6/24/2015 - Two new elementary school principals announced
At the Tuesday, June 23, 2015 board meeting, Superintendent Debbie Hamm recommended and the Richland School District Two Board of Trustees approved the promotions of Paula China to principal of L.W. Conder Elementary Arts Integrated Magnet School and Stacey Gadson to principal of Rice Creek Elementary School, both effective July 1, 2015.
