Program Description

Kelly Mill: Beyond the Bell Afterschool Program (BTB) is a structured program promoting the academic and social development of the middle school child. A snack and beverage will be provided to students each day at the beginning of afterschool. Additionally, our schedule provides time for homework help and academic counseling.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Students should report directly to the cafeteria for attendance upon school dismissal. Afternoon parent pickup will be in the cafeteria. For safety reasons, we will require picture IDs for parents or other authorized adults when signing out students daily. We will not release students to individuals without the parent 's or guardian's approval.

Parents will pick up students from the bus loop at the cafeteria door behind the school. Parents may not enter the school during Phase Two. Please come to the door and hold up your picture ID. A staff member will email you your child's name and pick-up time for your records.

Notice: Kelly Mill students attending school in-person who are not involved in a supervised, after-school activity and who have not been picked up from school by 2:30 p.m. will be escorted to BTB and a daily tuition fee of $10 will be applied to the student’s account.  Additionally, students attending tutoring and not picked up by 3:15 p.m. will also be taken to BTB and charged the daily rate of $10. In both cases, parents will be notified by a teacher or administrator.

Registration Fee

A one-time annual registration fee of $35 should be paid online for each student prior to attendance in the program. This fee is non-refundable.

The cost of tuition is $20 per week during Phase 2.  Payment is still required the days your student does not attend Kelly Mill: Beyond the Bell.

Weekly fees are due each Wednesday and paid online in Parent Portal.  If an account has not been paid by Wednesday, a late charge of $10 will be applied to the account. Accounts must be kept current in order for your child(ren) to attend. Accounts that are two weeks delinquent will result in dismissal from the program.
Upon registration, all tuition and registration fees for the remainder of the year will be uploaded to Parent Portal. Parents are required to make weekly tuition payments, but may elect to pay additional amounts.  A document on how to make partial payments is available here.

Late Fees

Pick-up Late Fees: Late pickup fees are as follows:
Late pickup 6:01 - 6:15 p.m. is $1.00/minute
Late pickup 6:16 p.m. - thereafter is $5.00/minute
Children that are picked up late more than three times may be dismissed from the program.

Withdrawal from the Program

Should circumstances change and you wish to withdraw your child from the Beyond the Bell program, please notify the director in writing as soon as possible. Any fees owed must be paid in full at this time.

Proper behavior is expected and school and district discipline policies will be enforced at all times. Parents will be notified if a child behaves inappropriately. Continued inappropriate behavior may result in your child being dismissed from the program. Severe infractions will result in the immediate dismissal of your child from the program.

Students not covered under their parent's insurance policy should obtain school insurance.

Health and Medical Issues

In the case of injury or an emergency health problem, we will contact the parent(s) immediately. If the parent(s) cannot be reached, we will contact the child's physician and/or EMS. Until the arrival of the parent, the physician, EMS, or the Director will make medical decisions for the child.

Individuals other than parents will be asked to show a picture ID in order to signout students.
