Back to School
Welcome back! We hope you had a fun and safe summer. Following are links to important information to get you back into the groove for the new school year, which begins Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
Patience urged for back-to-school transportation
The beginning of the school year always poses challenges with added bus routes, new bus drivers and additional student riders as we transport approximately 20,000 students on more than 100 school buses, running 600 routes and collectively travelling more than 10,000 miles each day!
Delays for student bus riders can be anticipated the first few weeks of school as we get adjusted to new routes and riders. If your child’s bus is running late, there is no need to call the school or transportation office. Please know that you will be contacted if there is an emergency. Please make sure your contact information is current at your school.
Carpool lines are also usually longer during the first week or so of school as parents become familiar with the traffic flow at their schools.
We look forward to seeing your child for the start of school and appreciate your patience as we work diligently to have our transportation operations running as smoothly and quickly as possible.
