Rice Creek and Sandlapper elementary schools participate in leadership field study

Rice Creek and Sandlapper elementary school ESOL students had the exciting opportunity to participated in a field study to Pearl Fryar’s Topiary Garden in Bishopville. Deborah Holland, ESOL teacher at both schools, received a Target Grant that paid for students to learn about leaders in the community. Pearl, as he is affectionately known, inspired students to find their passion in life and to follow their dreams. Later, the students traveled to San Jose restaurant to engage in activities in the kitchen and enjoyed their lunch and a desert of sopapillas. Students were ignited to work hard, care for others and persevere in their pursuit of dreams.
