VIRTUAL LEARNING: INTRODUCING THE RICHLAND TWO ESCHOOL PROGRAM
Richland Two families, we recognize the anticipation with which you await final word on what the opening of school 2020-21 will look like. For those of you who enjoyed a positive experience with eLearning, we are excited to share with you one new option for next school year and beyond. We are announcing the inaugural school year of what will become a permanent member of the Richland Two Family - Richland School District Two’s eSchool. R2eSchool will serve students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade as a comprehensive schooling option. Families who choose to attend R2eSchool will maintain their stay for the length of the 2020-21 school year. For the 2021-22 school year and beyond, families can choose to stay e-students or they may transfer their enrollment back to their zoned school.
Families who elect to participate in Richland Two’s eSchool program during the 2020-21 school term will commit to enrollment for the entire school year. At the end of the year, students may elect to return to their zoned or assigned school or continue their enrollment in Richland Two’s eSchool program.
Instruction in the R2eSchool will be delivered by highly qualified Richland Two educators who, like many of you, found success and want to continue in an eLearning environment. Students in the program will adhere to South Carolina and Richland Two academic standards. Students will be provided a device and families are responsible for providing Internet access and a supportive eLearning environment at home. The R2eSchool staff is currently developing student schedules to best meet individual needs. Students will experience face-to-face teacher, directed instruction, guided practice, and independent practice.
The information above provides the proposed amount of time students will access instruction on a daily basis.
