Our Schools

(NEW) COVID-19 Dashboard

In the event of a positive COVID-19 case in our schools, the Richland Two COVID-19 Procedure will be followed.

Contact Tracing

Any individual who tests positive will be contacted by Richland Two nursing and/or administrative staff to begin contact tracing.

Definitions

Close Contact is defined as contact closer than 6 feet for 15 minutes or more with a person who tested positive for COVID-19. Example, someone who rode in a car with someone who later tested positive for COVID-19 has had a close contact. The time is cumulative.
Proximity Contact is defined as contact not closer than 6 feet or less then 15 minutes with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Example someone present in a cafeteria but further than 6 feet away from someone who later tested positive for COVID-19 has had proximity contact.

Isolation - Students or staff showing symptoms or who have tested positive for COVID-19 will be sent home for a 10-day period of isolation. They may return to school/work earlier if they provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test or, in the case of symptoms only, a doctor's note showing a diagnosis, strep throat for example.

Quarantine - Students or staff that have had close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 must complete a quarantine period of 14 days. This means they will be required to stay home for 14 days so they do not risk exposing others to COVID-19 if they become sick. There is no shortening of the quarantine period. If the child or staff member lives in the same household as the person with COVID-19, they will have to quarantine an additional fourteen (14) days after the date their household member has been cleared from their isolation period.

Students and employees who have been in Close Contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 will receive a call from the school/site nurse and a letter informing them of the contact. Individuals who have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual will be required to quarantine for 14 days. The student will resume eLearning if their health permits.

Students and employees who have been in Proximity Contact with a COVID-19 positive person will receive a letter from the school/site nurse informing them of the contact. Parents/guardians should monitor their children for symptoms for 14 days after last contact. Employees should monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days after the last contact. The school/facility will also monitor incoming children and staff each morning for symptoms until fourteen (14) days after the case was in the facility
