Communications & Strategic Partnerships
Who We Are
The purpose of the Department of Communications and Strategic Partnerships is to engage the district’s comprehensive communications and marketing program to foster positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the community. The department works in accordance with Board policy to keep the citizens of the district regularly and thoroughly informed through all available channels of communication.
What We Do
- Facilitate meaningful and beneficial partnerships between the district, its schools and centers and businesses
- Assist district schools and centers with marketing and community engagement efforts
- Produce internal and external publications such as the Back 2 School Handbook, the Annual Report and various advertisements
- Manage, program and produce video content for the R2TV YouTube channel as well as provide audiovisual support and media production services to schools, centers, board meetings and the district office
- Facilitates and coordinates district response to Freedom of Information Act requests
- Organize district recognition events such as the retiree luncheon and the Turnaround Awards
- Build capacity and provide support for school foundations
- Create and coordinate the content of this website
- Manage and utilize the ParentSquare phone messaging system to disseminate general and emergency information to parents and students
- Manage the district's presence on social networking sites
- Serve as a liaison to internal organizations, including the Teacher Forum, the Faculty Advisory Council, the Richland Two Education Foundation and school-supporting organizations (PTO/PTA)
