Principal's Message

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to Dent Middle School! We are a vibrant school that promotes academic excellence for all students.  Our wide variety of choices such as The Learning Collaborative (TLC), Diamonds Scholars Academy (DSA), TWO Academies Single Gender program, Fine Arts Media and Enrichment (FAME), and Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID), provide every student with the level of challenge necessary to support his/her personal journey toward academic excellence.  Our mission is to maintain a culture where students are valued as individuals and allowed to explore their creative talents. 

Dent Middle School’s focus is to demonstrate excellence in everything we do in order to raise the achievement for all learners and help them on their way toward being productive global citizens. Our goal is to challenge our students academically, grow them socially and emotionally, and guide them toward independent thinking and problem solving. Our students are encouraged to display good character and to make good choices that will result in successful outcomes.  

Parents are an essential element in the success of our students. Our parents provide positive direction and critical feedback for the school improvement process.  Dent Middle School’s parents support student learning, act as parent mentors and greeters, volunteer countless hours, and provide financial support for building programs. We welcome and encourage your involvement!

We are looking forward to a great school year filled with enriching activities and learning experiences that will help our students display “Blue Diamond Pride!” I look forward to working with everyone throughout the school year to provide a positive, productive and safe learning environment that supports student success as we work to becoming the premier middle school!  Once again, welcome to Dent Middle School.
